North West Unite against Fascism (UAF) is calling an emergency demo against the Nazi BNP’s national conference, which is being held in Greater Manchester. Protestors are asked to assemble at midday, on Sat 14 November, outside The Swan pub, at the south end of Swan Lane in Hindley Green (near Wigan). The address is 737 Atherton Rd, Hindley Green, Wigan, WN2 4SB.

The protest is exactly at the same time as the rally against school closures in Wigan town centre, and on the same day as the Respect conference. That means that many local activists will be elsewhere and support from others is essential.

Paul Jenkins, the North West Organiser of UAF, writes: “It is very important that the Fascist BNP do not get away with holding this Conference with no protest outside. Please do your very best to attend, and bring members of your local group/trade union etc. Please bring banners, placards and whistles.”
