Revolutionary Internationalism & the Future of North-East Syria @ Halkevi Centre
A discussion on the importance of revolutionary internationalism, especially for the future of the radically democratic, ecological and socialist women’s revolution in North-East Syria. We will be joined by lifelong revolutionary Hugo Blanco, and ex-internationalist volunteers of the People’s and Women’s Protection Units (YPG/YPJ).

Veteran Peruvian activist Hugo Blanco’s life of ecosocialist struggle for the Quechua and other indigenous peoples around the world has been chronicled in Derek Wall’s new book Hugo Blanco: A Revolutionary for Life (Merlin Press and Resistance Books). Blanco, described as the ‘Fidel Castro of the Andes’, will be speaking at a series of events in Britain from late February.

This meeting will be a unique opportunity to discuss contemporary ecosocialist struggles with Hugo and veteran internationalists, to explore how to build practical solidarity movements with the exploited and oppressed from Latin America to the Middle East, and to draw lessons for global left politics.
