Politics in Turkey has been dominated by Erdogan’s consolidation of power and elimination of the opposition. This will culminate in the constitutional referendum on 16 April 2017. If successful, it will strengthen Erdogan’s personal rule, and making it nearly impossible to challenge AKP hegemony.  Dario Navaro, a socialist from Turkey, and Mehmet Ugur, Professor of Economics and Institutions at the University of Greenwich, will outline the implications of the referendum for the left and democratic forces in the country.
