Kurdistan: the struggle for freedom @ Kings Cross Community Centre

Tuesday 8 October, 7.30pm

Speakers from Kurdish Peoples Assembly and Socialist Resistance

The meeting aims at  deepening understanding of the many parts of the Kurdish revolution, from North (Turkey) to West (Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria – Rojava), from the strongly unfolding women’s revolution to the war against ISIS, and from East (Iran) to South (Iraq).
We will hear how best to help defend this movement which is under constant attack, especially from the Turkish army, Russia, and western imperialists states notably Britain, Germany, and the ostensibly friendly US state.
Can the revolution in North East Syria including the advanced women’s revolution maintain itself under siege conditions? Can it force Syria to back off from plans to retake the automous areas?  Can  the development of greater national unity prise the ruling KDP of Iraq  out of the grip of the Turkish state? Can campaigning and Turkish losses force Erdogan  to the peace negotiations including with imprisoned PKK leader Abdullan Ocalan? These are some of the many questions that will be covered in the discussion.

Venue: KCBNA Community Centre, 62 Marchmont Street, WC1N 1AB (Kings Cross or Russell Square tubes)
