The articles in this book bring together analysis and proposals for action from many of the participants at the Europe Against Austerity conference held last October.

What unites the pieces is opposition to the austerity programme now being enacted in every country across Europe and a shared understanding that a new movement must be built to turn back the drive to destroy the post-war social gains. This has to be a mass movement and has to operate at a European wide level.

Following the conference an embryonic European Co-ordination was established and has pledged to work with others within Europe and beyond to build the resistance.

This small book begins with an appeal to the peoples of Europe from Mikis Theodorakis and Manolis Glezos. They are calling for a broad coalition of action across Europe against austerity – building such a front is the task that confronts us all.

Come along to the launch and meet the authors with the authors James Meadway and Ozlem Onarem.

Sunday 11th March, 3-7pm, Housmans Bookshop, 5 Caledonian Road, London N1 9DX.
